The Circle of Giving,
Our Nonprofit Foundation
Our foundation has four primary initiatives: community education, caregiving support, complimentary therapies and The Hospice Guest House. These initiatives are ways we have served and continue to serve the community since 1999.
In addition to educating the public, we support patients’ onsite caregivers to keep their loved one in the comfort and familiarity of their own home, whenever possible. Federal regulations limit the scope of direct caregiving support a given hospice is able to provide, so we rely on our foundation to support us in helping the family acquire the resources they need to care for their loved one.
The foundation's funding provides a positive alternative for individuals unable to die at home. This alternative is called a hospice house.
Our mission is to enrich the quality of life for our patients and their families.
We believe that death is a natural part of life and we aspire to improve the physical, social, emotional, spiritual care and wellbeing of not only those at the end of life, but also their loved ones.
The Lawrence J Weiss Hospice Guest House
The Lawrence J. Weiss Hospice Guest House proudly celebrates the second anniversary of opening its doors to some of our community’s most vulnerable neighbors. Over the past two years, the guest house has become a place of peace, compassion, and comfort for terminally ill patients who have no means and nowhere else to go at the end of life.
We offer our deepest gratitude to Dr. Lawrence J. Weiss, whose extraordinary generosity made this mission possible. By donating the home, Dr. Weiss created far more than a residence; he helped create a sanctuary where individuals can spend their final days surrounded by care, respect, and humanity. His gift continues to touch countless lives and stands as a lasting expression of compassion in action.
We are also profoundly thankful to the community for its continued financial support of this no-cost guest house. Because of the generosity of donors, supporters, and our volunteer Board of Directors, we are able to provide round-the-clock caregiving and a home-like setting for those facing the end of life without the resources or support system they need. This work is only possible because our community believes that every person deserves compassion, regardless of circumstance.
Since opening, the Lawrence J. Weiss Hospice Guest House has served 115 guests, offering 24/7 caregiving with one simple but powerful promise: nobody dies alone, and everyone dies with dignity and comfort. Every guest welcomed into the home is met with compassion, presence, and attentive care during life’s most sacred transition.
As we mark this meaningful anniversary, we reflect not only on what has been accomplished, but on the lives touched, the families supported, and the dignity preserved. Together, with the support of our caring community, we will continue this vital mission, ensuring that those at the end of life are never forgotten, never alone, and always cared for with love and respect. Every dollar counts to preserve “A Safe Place for a Beautiful Goodbye.”

By including a charitable bequest in your will, you can leave a lasting legacy that reflects your values and continues to benefit the organizations close to your heart, such as the Circle of Life Hospice Foundation. Bequests not only ensure that your assets are used for a purpose you care about, but they may also offer tax advantages. This can be a wonderful opportunity to engage your family in philanthropy while planning your estate.
